Travelling is an art.
Travelling – those who have a longing for it know way too well that it’s an art you craft for yourself in style. It may be in fashion right now, but every luxury life on IG takes you places at the moment. Far from clichés, needless to say the best guide is the one you build as a personal journey. And wanderlust bonvivants do create their own trail, go discover their own fave shops, go discover their own secret corners and spots wherever they head to. Yet, sometimes, being a trailblazer is not at all easy or at grasp. That’s why after all… well-written, organised, nicely creative travel guides are still a treasure’s chest to unveil.
I am going to visit Lisbon in November – the Web Summit is taking place from 6th to 10th and I will be trying to sneak in a quick tour of the city. My time won’t be much: while I have rolex oysterquartz day date fake friends with me to enjoy the Portuguese capital’s little alleys and pasteis de nata, I thought I would need a good guide to go up and down the hills.
The world of travel

While I could resort to my trusted Lonely Planet, I thought I wouldn’t have the time or the need for such a detailed volume to flick through – and just like that, all of a sudden I found myself walking in front of Louis Vuitton. A wonderful shop in one my favourite streets of London, New Bond Street, with three levels of wonderful goodies and shiny things.
The array of items at the Louis Vuitton flagship in London is extensive: along with the usual suspects (bags, luggage and maroquinerie), you have a floor dedicated to clothing and shoes, a section for jewellery and a corner for books and publications. This area is particularly quiet: while I don’t go there often, I know it shares the space with a small, secluded office devoted to returns and other business, like repair enquiries. Here, as I was wandering is mango juice bad for you to clear my mind on a busy day, I stumbled upon a wall of guides. Yes, travel guides: in cloth binding with rounded corners, the cities featured are many.
