All the summer dresses that work in the fall

    24th August 2018

I’ve been super excited about summer this year – despite having worked most of it, and having had no days at the beach as of now (I know! But I’ll be in Sicily next week, #staytuned) I find that this is the year when it comes to summer dresses and jumpsuits  (yes, it is THE year of the cute jumpsuit), the choice is so ample and in some cases very affordable that I couldn’t hold my horses. So, despite having lived only a few days of summer heat wave in 2018 – hello, Fogust in San Fran – I really feel inspired by the seasonal trends.

As a busy freelancer, I tend to buy dresses that I can recycle in the colder months and that can be SFW* so think all things midi and flattering, without too many straps or leg on show, cute yet not too frilly and above all, in the right colours. I like to team them up with splurgy accessories like an elegant bag, transitional booties and cozy cardis – that way the look can immediately scream fall and pumpkin lattes ☕️🍂🍁

    *(suitable for work, obvs)

Check out the styles I love at the moment: mainly from LA-based brands this year, because shipping is so much easier when I’m Cali but most of these deliver worldwide so no panic. Plus, I found so many good bargains in the sales… 🙂

    • Reformation (my o-bsession rn)
    • Zara (loved by many)
    • Topshop (UK darling)
    • Andjela (another nice venture by the Monday Swimwear team)
    • Revolve (one of the fastest-growing, largest e-shops with the cutest trends
    • Aritzia (Canadian and US styles)
    • Réalisation Par (to satisfy the cute sundresses bug I got from @parisinfourmonths)
    • and also: Free People, Zimmermann, Club Monaco, J Crew… and the list goes on.

The midi dress is just everywhere and hopefully it’ll stay. If like me you like flattering jumpsuits, fluid A lines, block colours or polka dots, stripes or gingham patterns, lady-like cuts and timeless looks, there you go! Summer sorted. And I even managed to snatch some that are not – for once – black!
